This project added 70,550 square feet of new building including two 54-bed minimum security housing units and a 32-bed intensive treatment unit. To the north of the existing building we added a 24,900 sf Pre-Engineered Metal Industries/Vocational Education Building, including two 4,500 sf industries programs, classrooms, vocational education rooms, central storage, and central laundry facilities.
A new 15,750 sf detached Pre-Engineered Metal Industries Building was constructed to the southwest of the existing building and equipped for Tilapia fish production. The contact visiting room was expanded by 1,300 sf with three additional non-contact visiting stations added. The existing clinic/infirmary has doubled in size, with new exam rooms, nurses station, lab, dental suite, suicide watch cells, and medical staff offices. The existing kitchen and dining areas nearly doubled in size to accommodate the additional 140 inmates. The existing perimeter fence was upgraded with razor ribbon, perimeter detection and new perimeter lighting.
